A League of Shame

Small promo for another blog I started called 'A League of Shame'. The inspiration is rugby's uglier younger cousin - Rugby League. You know their season has started when you start to here the word 'alleged' thrown around more than usual. The winners of last year's controversy comp would have to be Greg Bird for glassing his girlfriend in the face then trying to blame his best friend and, of course, $onny Bill Williams for defaulting on a $2.5 million contract, running off to France, avoiding bounty hunters, switching rugby codes, not converting to Islam and taking up boxing.

We are in week two of their season and we already have four, yes FOUR, players in trouble for alcohol related offences

  • Brett Stewart - alleged sexual assault of a 17 year old girl.
  • Anthony Wahmough - allegedly punching a sponsor in the face.
  • Brett Seymour - allegedly throwing pizza and causing a ruckus.
  • Jake Friend - allegedly drink driving at three times the legal limit.

A League of Shame will trundle along as the season progresses, hopefully giving you a frontline seat to the most interesting part of Australian Rugby League.
